"May Flower"

May Flower block

You will need 3 fabrics:
     Light (Muslin)
     Flower Color
     Stem Color (Green)

From the light, cut:
     One 3½" square
     One 4" square
     Two 3 7/8" squares

From the flower color, cut:
     One 3½" square
     One 3 7/8" square

From the Stem color, cut:
     Two 3½" squares
     One 3 7/8" square
     One 6" by 1" strip

Make two 3½" half square triangle blocks
from the 3 7/8" squares of light and flower color

Make two 3½" half square triangle blocks
from the 3 7/8" squares of flower and stem color

The stem block is made by:
     Cutting the 4" light square in half diagonally
     Mark the centers of the diagonal sides
     Mark the centers of the long sides of the 6 by 1" strip
     Matching the center marks,
           sew the strip between the triangles
     Press seams to the strip
     Trim to a 3½" square

Arrange and sew according to the diagram

Finished size is 9½", including the seam allowance
